Our true identity is found in creative activities blossoming from within. It is found when one loses oneself. When the time just… STOPS.
And what an amazing feeling… losing yourself in some creative activity of your own. I do that a lot. It is like a form of escapism that gently guides me into finding who I am.
Creative activity might mean drawing, baking, floral arranging, sewing, painting, gardening, photographing nature, writing and many more. Creative activity helps us to lose our self-conscious selves - losing ourselves drawing a picture or writing a sentence.
You see, when we immerse ourselves in the activity, we feel nourished by it. It helps us grow as the activity grows - because we discover who we are in the very process of not thinking about who we are.
Creative activity releases joy, and that same joyful energy goes through us and out to those who surround us.
Creative activity helps me to immerse myself in the here and now. And I feel... happy and free! One of my favourite creative activities is baking. I love to make cakes just for the beauty of sharing them. They bring a smile to people's face.
